Vital Signs survey tackles COVID questions

As Greater Victoria continues the journey back from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, respondents to this yearB次元官网网址檚 Vital Signs survey will notice the questions look a little different from years past.

As always, results of the 2020 survey, combined with local statistics, will be brought together in the VictoriaB次元官网网址檚 Vital Signs report, released each fall by the Foundation as a snapshot of livability and wellbeing in the region.

Ensuring the annual community check-up remains relevant to Greater Victoria today, the survey, which launched June 1, this year invites you to weigh in on the effects of COVID-19 on our region, in addition to areas such as affordability, the environment, arts and culture, and safety.

B次元官网网址淰ictoriaB次元官网网址檚 Vital Signs survey is a key tool used by local decision-makers and donors when deciding where to allocate funds to create the greatest impact,B次元官网网址 says Victoria Foundation CEO Sandra Richardson, encouraging everyone to take a few minutes to share their thoughts. B次元官网网址淭he global pandemic presented some challenges for the region, but is also a unique opportunity to explore where our community excelled in its response and where we need to do better.B次元官网网址

But questions arenB次元官网网址檛 the only impact COVID has had on the . The survey time period has also been reduced to just one month, with the final date to share your thoughts July 1.

Your voice can make a difference

Launched in 2006 as an initiative of the Victoria FoundationB次元官网网址檚 70th anniversary, Vital Signs is part of a national program from Community Foundations of Canada. At its heart, though, Vital Signs is a local community check-up, measuring the vitality of our region, identifying significant trends, and assigning grades to issue areas critical to quality of life right here in Greater Victoria.

Based on previous Vital Signs results, the Foundation last year distributed more than $18 million in grants to 523 organizations B次元官网网址 funds that support invaluable programs and initiatives working to improve the quality of life for all residents.

Beyond the scope of the survey, continuing efforts are also made to make it easier and faster to take B次元官网网址 simply connect on your smartphone, tablet or computer and answer the questions that apply to you B次元官网网址 about 10 minutes and youB次元官网网址檙e done!

As a thank you, those who respond to the survey and prize section by July 1 will also be entered into a prize draw.
