While "plywood" is in the name B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ and rest assured, they know that particular product well B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ the is so much more.

In fact, whether you're a DIYer or contractor, this B.C.-grown company has both the local expertise and array of construction materials and finishing products you need to get your project done, and done right. And for all those woodworking hobbyists, Windsor is also renowned locally for their exceptional selection of specialty woods, says Windsor Plywood Van Isle store manager Cindy Andrews.

You'll also find a variety of exterior products, including lumber and specialty items like siding and decking. Looking for something you don't see? They can likely bring it in quickly from Windsor's extensive network of suppliers B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ after all, they've been doing it since 1969, when the first store opened across the water in Surrey.

While they may have their roots in plywood, today Windsor specializes in hard-to-source interior and exterior home finishing products, including flooring, doors, mouldings and especially wood products.

Among the West Shore store's specialties is their door department, including in-house door hanging, available now for both interior and exterior doors B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ something few other retailers are able to offer, Andrews notes. They also offer custom door sizing and a "machine to match" option for existing door jambs.

Expertise you can count on

Key to the Windsor difference is in their service and expertise. Cindy's husband Rob heads up the door department, for example, and brings with him 30 years' experience as a general contractor.

And when you call the store, you won't receive an automated reply B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ expect a real person on the other end of the line who'll either answer your questions directly, or find the right person who can, Cindy says. The same goes when you visit the store. "When you walk in the door, the first person you talk to will usually be the one you work with," she says.

Because of that one-on-one approach and established relationships with manufacturers, the Windsor team can often secure items with a shorter lead-time than  the big box stores B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ there's no run-around between departments. They're also pleased to offer in-house charge , and have orders prepared and ready for pickup, or arrange for delivery to the site, to ensure your supplies are ready when and where you need them! (As an added welcome bonus, open an account with them and get $100 off your first delivery order.)
