Witness calls police after early morning Colwood crash

An early morning single-vehicle crash in Colwood has resulted in one woman losing her licence for 90 days.

West Shore RCMP officers were called to the scene of the crash on Sunday (Sept. 17) at approximately 2 a.m.

A witness called police after watching a grey 2004 Toyota Corolla crash into the tree line near the 2000-block of Sooke Road in Colwood.

The driver and only occupant, a 27-year-old woman, was exhibiting symptoms of alcohol intoxication, police said in a statement. After providing a breath sample, police on scene determined her blood alcohol level was over the legal limit. She was issued a 90-day roadside prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act and the car was impounded for 30 days.

The driver didnB次元官网网址檛 sustain any major injuries but was taken to hospital as a precaution.
