RCMP is now accepting applications for the Indigenous Pre-Cadet Program for spring 2025.

The program offers Indigenous people between the ages of 19 and 29 the opportunity to get an inside look at the life of a police officer in a three-week training session at the RCMP Training Academy, Depot Division in Regina, Sask.

While there, recruits will learn how to work as part of a policing team, get a glimpse of the Criminal Code and RCMP policy and undergo physical fitness and drills.

Lieph is one of two civilian employees currently part of the West Shore RCMP team, along with Shania Luna from the 2022 batch.

Const. Cole Brewer, who is in charge of West Shore RCMPB次元官网网址檚 Indigenous and Community Policing Unit, says his division is proud to have Lieph and Luna as a part of the team.

B次元官网网址淭he Pre-Cadet Program is a great opportunity for Indigenous Peoples who are interested in policing to gain first-hand knowledge into law enforcement," Brewer added.

Applications will close on Oct. 31 and are open to Indigenous Peoples in Canada of First Nation, Inuit or M茅tis descent.
