In what police are calling a BԪַroad rage incidentBԪַ in Langford on Friday evening (May 31), an intoxicated Metchosin man side-swiped another vehicle, then got out and accosted its driver.

After crashing his 1990 Suzuki Carry pickup into a 2010 Toyota Yaris near the intersection on Kelly Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway, the RCMP says the visibly intoxicated man went and tried to physically pull the driver of the Toyota out of their car.

Officers at the scene determined that the Suzuki had side-swiped the Yaris and both were stopped at the intersection when the driver of the Suzuki approached the other vehicle.

Police say the incident did not result in any charges other than a 90-day roadside prohibition for the driver of the Suzuki, who failed a breathalyzer test. The 31-year-old from Metchosin also had his Suzuki impounded for 30 days.

The driver of the Toyota was unharmed and did not wish to pursue assault charges against the Metchosin man.
