View Royal is offering residents a chance to learn valuable earthquake preparedness information following a series of earthquakes off Vancouver Island in the last week.
The largest of these recent earthquakes measured 4.1 on the Richter scale.
This initiative coincides with the Great B.C. ShakeOut, a provincewide earthquake drill happening on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 10:17 a.m.
Participants will learn about creating a disaster plan, assembling a grab-and-go bag, identifying safe zones inside and outside their homes, contacting emergency services, and communicating with loved ones.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the View Royal Public Safety Building. To reserve a seat, call 250-479-7322 or email emergency.program@viewroyal.ca
