The Town of View Royal has its sights firmly set on the future with the launch of an update to its official community plan (OCP),
Titled 'View Royal 2050: Our Future View', the initiative will help shape the townB次元官网网址檚 vision for the next 20 years, providing a roadmap for managing growth and development in alignment with community values and aspirations, explains the council in a news release.
"Through View Royal 2050, the town will respond to emerging challenges and opportunities, ensuring a sustainable and inclusive future for all residents," they say.
Addressing multiple challenges for the community, such as land use, housing, transportation, parks, environmental stewardship, climate action and economic development, the council describes the OCP as one of the most important guiding documents for the town.
The OCP update will unfold over three phases this year, up until October when the town hopes to start the process to formally adopt the refreshed plan.
"I am thrilled to see our community come together to shape our future. We especially encourage our young residents to get involved and share their ideas, as they are the key to building a vibrant and sustainable future," said Coun. Damian Kowalewich.
Multiple opportunities for the public to give their input will be available throughout the process, says the town, including in-person and online engagement activities.
The first opportunity for the community to have its say was launched in January, with an online survey.
Feedback collected through the survey will help inform and update the OCP's vision B次元官网网址� a statement that captures the goals and values of the community and outlines where residents see View Royal in the future B次元官网网址� as well as guide the projectB次元官网网址檚 next steps.
