Parkinson Wellness Projects, a non-profit organization helping people living with ParkinsonB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s disease, launched its Year-End Match campaign on Oct. 29.
Every donation made will be matched dollar for dollar to help support critical programs, including 25 weekly exercise classes (in-person and virtual), individual and family counselling, support groups and educational seminars for people living with ParkinsonB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s disease.
The non-profit organization says there are nearly 3,000 people on Vancouver Island currently diagnosed with Parkinson's and that number continues to grow.
Anyone living with ParkinsonB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s is welcome to use their facility for free. Operations are paid for through donations and grants and contributions from local businesses and foundations.
PWP is hoping to raise $120,000 this year from their Year-End Match campaign that runs until Dec. 3.
