Victoria is the fourth most expensive city in Canada to rent one- and two-bedroom apartments, according to a report from Zumper B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ an online marketplace for renters and property managers.
On average, one-bedroom apartments in the city cost $2,160 per month, while two-bedrooms cost $2,850. Compared to the national average B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ $1,900 and $2,339 per month for one- and two-bedroom apartments, respectively B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ Victoria apartments are significantly more expensive most cities, Zumper concluded.
Victoria ranks behind Burnaby and Toronto, as well as Vancouver, where one- and two-bedroom apartments cost $2,690 and $3,800 per month, respectively.
The cost of renting in Victoria has increased 5.9 per cent since August 2023, while the cost of two-bedrooms have increased by 3.6 per cent.
The report also highlights the difference average monthly rental prices between Victoria and other Canadian cities such as Saskatoon, where one-bedroom apartments cost on average $1,270 per month and two-bedrooms cost $1,480.
