As the weather warms and once-icy areas get soft, the south and much of coastal Vancouver Island face significant mid-week winds.
Greater Victoria and up the west coast to just south of Port Alice and the east coast from Parksville to Sayward will see winds starting Tuesday (Feb. 18) night, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
A low-pressure system is approaching the Island bringing strong southeast winds of 70 km/h gusting to 90, easing Wednesday near noon as the system weakens.
