Central Saanich, Sidney and Langford were all named as best places to work in B.C., according to a new ranking.

The three Greater Victoria municipalities were recognized in BC Business Magazine, which used 2023 statistics to rank 50 of the largest communities in the province.

The magazine looked at factors such as economic diversity, population growth, household financial vulnerability, resident sense of belonging, residential greenhouse gas emissions, the rental vacancy rate, home sales, housing starts and annual unemployment rate.

In taking the No. 3 spot, Langford jumped five positions from its 2022 ranking. Mayor Scott Goodmanson said council recognizes the importance of economic development and supporting local businesses that make up the cityB次元官网网址檚 resilient economy.

B次元官网网址淐ouncil remains committed to expanding the economic base to reduce the need for Langford residents to commute outside of the city for work,B次元官网网址� Goodmanson said in a news release.

The ranking highlights LangfordB次元官网网址檚 commitment to fostering economic growth and prosperity for its residents, said Dale Wheeldon, CEO of the BC Economic Development Association.
