Saanich residents and commuters are advised of a 24-hour full closure of Sinclair Road from Dec. 9 to 20 to address unstable soils and facilitate storm drain installation.

The closure will affect Sinclair Road between Finnerty and Cadboro Bay Road, with no through access permitted. Residents and UVic visitors will have limited access to parking lots and residences on at least one side of the closure. The closure will shift as work progresses, beginning between Haro and Clarendon Road.

Additional closures are planned between Finnerty and Hobbs streets from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes, including Finnerty Road, Arbutus Road, Cedar Hill Cross Road, Cadboro Bay Road, and Hobbs Street, to avoid delays.

Access to residences, businesses, UVic parking lots, and Gyro Park will be maintained throughout the closure. Businesses in Cadboro Bay Village remain open, and emergency access will not be affected. 

However, local residents may need to take alternate routes depending on the closure's location. There will be no access to Sinclair Road via Killarney Road.
