MotherB次元官网网址檚 Day and the Sarah Beckett Memorial Run in Langford come together on Sunday, May 12, to celebrate a mum who was killed by a drunk driver in 2016.

Aschenbrenner, BeckettB次元官网网址檚 widow, had trained with Corey Hobbs, Ian May, and Bryce Hobbs to complete a 50-km run through the West Shore municipalities Beckett served.
B次元官网网址淢y legs are sore,B次元官网网址 Aschenbrenner said.
There was a mix of first-time runners and many who wanted to come out to celebrate their mothers and Beckett.
B次元官网网址淚t is my first time,B次元官网网址 said Matt Dunnings, one of the runners.
Owen Grey was the first to cross the finish line, with Sandi Menzies and Colin Nielsen being the last. Every participant who crossed the finish line received a medal.
Starlight Stadium opened at 8 a.m., and volunteers began building the tents and stage for the raceB次元官网网址檚 start at 10 a.m.
The event attracted 500 runners, walkers, and pushers who took part in the run.
The Sarah Beckett Memorial Run raised funds for the Boys and Girls Club South Vancouver Island, and the winners from the 50/50 draw are to be announced on May 16.
