The spirit of the season was definitely not alive and well on a Victoria highway Christmas Eve.
West Shore RCMP is investigating an alleged hit-and-run and assault that took place on Dec. 24 at around 7:45 a.m. near the Helmcken Road off-ramp on the Trans-Canada Highway in View Royal.
A grey 2011 Mercedes GLK350 was side-swiped by a black Volkswagen Jetta while travelling southbound in the right-turn lane. Both drivers pulled over, but the JettaB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s driver allegedly assaulted the other driver before fleeing the scene without sharing information. The victim sustained minor injuries.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, in his early 40s, approximately 6', with short black hair, a black beard, and glasses. He was reportedly wearing a black shirt and jeans and driving a black Volkswagen Jetta with an unknown licence plate.
