Oak Bay police responded to a complaint of mischief on the 2200 block of Cadboro Bay Road on Dec. 25. The keyhole to the front door of an apartment complex had been damaged, and the rear door lock was also malfunctioning. There are no suspects in the incident believed to have occurred between 5 and 7:50 p.m.
Police also responded to an attempted break-in at a home under construction on Lansdowne Road on Dec. 27. The suspects, described as three males in their early 20s, did not gain entry and fled before officers arrived. The property had an interactive security system with CCTV and was surrounded by construction fencing.
Those were among the 67 calls Oak Bay police responded to during the week of Dec. 23 to 29 which included domestic disputes, mental health-related calls, and property crimes.
