The public information session regarding work on the Highway 14 and Idlemore Road intersection has now been postponed. A new date for the event will be announced as soon as it is available.
The Ministry of Transportation and Transit is consulting with Saseenos Elementary school and stakeholders to ensure the design supports the need of community.
The session was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure staff were to attend to present a design overview and other project details. The project aims to improve safety and ease traffic flow for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users. Ministry staff will also be available to answer questions.
B次元官网网址淭he project will also provide better access to Saseenos Elementary School and support economic development opportunities for TB次元官网网址橲ou-ke First Nation,B次元官网网址 the ministry said in a press release.
The initiative is one of several current and upcoming projects in the District of Sooke. Another project, the Little River Crossing and multi-use trail, has just broken ground and is expected to be completed this fall.
To help reduce congestion, the district is also looking to improve transit options, said Christina Moog, the districtB次元官网网址檚 manager of communications and community relations.
