The City of Langford has invited residents to a 'Langford Community Fun Day' on July 18 as part of the 'Let's Plan Langford. Together.' public engagement strategy.

"This initiative looks ahead, planning for a future where Langford is inclusive and resilient," said Langford mayor Scott Goodmanson. "It's about creating a city where everyone can thrive."

Langford's rapid growth has seen it claim the label 'the fastest growing city in B.C.' The city's population is 49,345, according to the City of Langford Website.

At the community fun day, residents will be invited to play games and enjoy food while Langford residents to have a say about the future of their city regarding the official community plan (OCP). 

"Responsible development and positive growth require active and continual community engagement. Through the Let's Plan Langford.Together. engagement strategy, we're committing that the future of Langford will be decided by its residents through active public participation and community feedback," Goodmanson said.

The City of Langford said the 'Langford Community Fun Day' will kick off the community engagement the council has planned. 

It will run from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the city council scheduled to appear. 

There will be a string of OCP-related events around Langford:

• Friday, July 19 at the Station from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.;
• Saturday, July 20, at the Goldstream Farmers Market, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.;
• Sunday, July 21 at the Music in the Park 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
