Langford breaks ground on 131-unit building

The Impera is expected to be finished in 2026

The City of Langford, Vancouver and U.S.-based developer Cedar Coast and Orion Construction kicked off construction of a new Langford development located at 797 Revilo Place.

The six-storey, 131-unit building, called Impera, is close to retail shops and post-secondary institutions, and it will boast studio and two-bedroom apartments designed "with sustainability and community living in mind" according to the developer.

"When Cedar Coast made the decision to start doing multi-family projects in Canada, the mandate was clear, find projects in cities that are development friendly and open for business. In my view, no city checks that box better than the City of Langford," said Jason Lee, vice-president of development at Cedar Coast.

Langford Mayor Scott Goodmanson expressed thanks to the developing team, and explained how important this housing is to the region.

"We are very family friendly. Just down the road, less than two kilometres, we have our City Centre Park, you've got a stadium, you have a professional soccer team, you've got a national rugby team, you've got a championship [junior football team], and they all sponsor and look after junior teams," said Goodmanson. "The kids that will hopefully be living here, the families that will hopefully be starting here, will one day get a chance to work with those athletes and get a chance to go to the parks and the trails all around us."

The project is expected to be finished in 2026.
