An incident at Central Middle School in Victoria draw a heavy police response, including from the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, which led to the arrest of one person.
According to the Victoria Police Department's account on X, formerly Twitter, a suspicious man entered the Fort Street school just past noon on Monday, Oct. 21, which initiated the school's lockdown procedure.
"The suspect has been taken into custody. There are no concerns for public safety and no injuries to any students or staff," noted the X post.
In a Facebook post, the Greater Victoria School District said the situation was "quickly resolved and all staff and students are safe, with no concern for public safety as reported by police. The school is still open and operating for the remainder of the day."
