Hundreds of runners are taking part in this weekend's Vancouver Island Race Series in North Saanich.
The Prairie Inn Harriers Running Club will hold its annual Pioneer 8K Road Race on Sunday (Jan. 12) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
At least 650 runners will kick off their 8-kilometre race in front of the Pat Bay Highway Tourist Information Building before proceeding west on John Road, south on Wilson Road, east on Mills Road, north on Littlewood Road, east on Glamorgan Road and arriving at the 4-kilometre point where they will turn around and head back to the starting/finishing line.
The best spots to cheer on the runners are along West Saanich Road and Mills Road.
There will be some brief but minimal traffic delays.
