B.C. Ferries says it has been a busy day and are reminding passengers to book ahead as sailings start to fill up.
As of 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, 4, 5 and 7 p.m. sailings are full and later sailings, as well as Saturday morning sailings, are starting to fill up for sailings between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen.
"We reserve a portion of each sailing for non-reserved travelers, though with todayB次元官网网址檚 high demand, itB次元官网网址檚 best to check our or the B.C. Ferries app for real-time updates on availability and wait times," B.C. Ferries noted in an emailed statement.
With the Queen of New Westminster temporarily out of service for repairs, capacity on the route is impacted, they said.
"Looking forward, weB次元官网网址檙e actively investing in fleet renewal through our New Major Vessels project, which will significantly expand capacity on this route. Expected to enter service by 2029, these vessels will accommodate up to 360 vehicles and 2,100 passengers, a substantial increase from the 250-310 vehicles and 1,200-1,500 passengers our current vessels carry," noted the statement.
