The City of Langford and Island Health are advising against all water-based activities at Glen View Park as the water has been deemed unsafe.
Island Health posted a notice about the closure on July 17, and the City of Langford announced it via social media on Tuesday (July 23).
According to the water sample history posted on the Island Health website, the park was closed because E. coli was found in the water.
The beach advisory will be in place until bacteria levels decrease below the health authority's required threshold for a beach advisory.
Beach water testing takes place across Greater Victoria weekly or bi-weekly from mid-May to September.
Island Health works closely with the local government to monitor beach quality, but it is the responsibility of beach owners and operators to ensure beach water sampling and maintain a safe environment for public beach use.
