The Vancouver Canucks and Seattle Kraken have announced a multi-year agreement to participate in a two-day prospect showcase, with the 2025 event set for Seattle and 2026 occurring in Abbotsford.

Games will feature the top prospects from each team and are scheduled for September.

This new event means the end of the Penticton Young Stars Tournament, which had run at the South Okanagan Events Centre starting in 2010 and featured the other western Canadian NHL teams.

Jim Rutherford, the president of hockey operations for Canucks Sports and Entertainment, stated that the team was unable to get commitments from the other teams that have traditionally participated at Young Stars. He also thanked the city of Penticton for hosting the event over the years.
