East Sooke businessman running for BC Greens in Lower Mainland

A local businessman has thrown his hat into a ring in the Lower Mainland to run for the BC Greens.

An East Sooke businessman had to throw his hat a long way into the ring for a run in a riding on the Lower Mainland.

Nick Dickinson-Wilde, who is running for the BC Greens in Delta North, said he offered to run when the party indicated they were having difficulty lining up candidates in several ridings.

"I've been involved with the BC Green Party for many years as a volunteer and in the riding executive for the old Langford-Juan de Fuca riding," said Dickinson-Wilde, a business owner who specializes in building websites. "I firmly believe people should have the option of voting for the party of their choice. Locally, I'll be supporting David Evans."

Although Dickinson-Wilde has lived in the Sooke region for 18 years, with the past 10 of those in East Sooke, he said that in the unlikely event that he wins, he would consider moving to live in the North Delta riding.
