Ukrainian guitar virtuoso Marko Topchii is set to fill a University of Victoria recital hall with classical music early next month.

Organized by the Victoria Guitar Society, the event will take place on Wednesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. in UVic's Phillip T. Young recital hall.

"Born into a musical family in Ukraine in 1991, Marko has garnered widespread acclaim for his exceptional talent and numerous competition victories," the Victoria Guitar Society said in a news release. "MarkoB次元官网网址檚 performances have graced some of the most esteemed venues worldwide including Carnegie Hall (New York), the Salle Cortot (Paris) and Yamaha Ginza Hall (Tokyo)."

In addition to winning some 100 international guitar competitions, the 34-year-old graduated from the Kharkiv Conservatory, joined the San Francisco Conservatory's professional studies program and collaborated with orchestras worldwide over the course of a relatively short career.
