Student stars hit the stage for the first time in Vic HighB次元官网网址檚 new theatre to showcase the dazzling yet shadowy world of 1940s Hollywood.

The young actors present City of Angels, a musical that blends film noir satire with a captivating, jazzy score from March 5 to 8.

B次元官网网址淭his student-led production is an opportunity to celebrate not only the musical's satire but also the historical context of HollywoodB次元官网网址檚 Golden Age, emphasizing how the ideals of fame and storytelling were both romanticized and critiqued during this transformative period in cinema history,B次元官网网址� the school said in a news release.

Audiences are transported back to the Golden Age of Hollywood, in a biting satire that follows a screenwriter, Stine, as he grapples with his professional success and the seedy underbelly of the industry, while simultaneously weaving the tale of his fictional characters.

The production, featuring a talented cast of Victoria High School students, takes place in the brand-new Vic High Theatre, marking a special milestone as the first musical performed in the schoolB次元官网网址檚 newly renovated space. 

Aside from the cast, stagecraft and sound work are on display as City of Angels brings the esthetic allure of the 1940s to life through stunning period costumes, vintage-inspired set design and a sophisticated jazz-infused score that echoes the golden era of film.

The show runs at Victoria High School Theatre, 1260 Grant St. from March 5 to 8.
