Toronto-born comic is looking forward to exploring parts of the West Coast heB次元官网网址檚 never seen before with longtime pal , and hopefully spread some laughter.
The pair will set off on the five-day Big Beast Comedy Tour that takes them through central Vancouver Island and across the Salish Sea to Sechelt. The tour cruises through Qualicum Beach on Oct. 19, Port Alberni on Oct. 20, Nanaimo on Oct. 21, Lake Cowichan on Oct. 22 and Parksville on Oct. 23.
B次元官网网址淲e shouldB次元官网网址檝e called this the shiny foreheads tour,B次元官网网址� joked Goad, adding that he and Beuhler have been friends for more than two decades.
Goad, whoB次元官网网址檚 appeared on Comedy Central and shared the stage with Flight of the Conchords, Jim Gaffigan and Bill Burr, said he and Beuhler originally met in Edmonton where Beuhler was emceeing a show and attempted to start an improv segment with him.
B次元官网网址淚 say, B次元官网网址極K, John, start us off.B次元官网网址� And John is like, B次元官网网址楥ome to think of it, I think weB次元官网网址檙e pretty [bad] at improv, so maybe we should just end the show here tonight,B次元官网网址� and I looked at John, and I go B次元官网网址榙onB次元官网网址檛 ever try to mess with me, kid.B次元官网网址� And we laughed it off and we had a great time after that,B次元官网网址� Goad said.
Other than touring, the two comics also collaborate on a YouTube series called Movie Bullies, in which they B次元官网网址渢ake great movies down a peg or two.B次元官网网址�
TheyB次元官网网址檝e provided comedic narrative to such films as Titanic, Scarface, The Boy in the Plastic Bubble and Road House, and Goad said theyB次元官网网址檙e looking to do a segment on Commando soon.
In early September, the pair shared the stage at the YukB次元官网网址檚 YukB次元官网网址檚 Comedy Club in Surrey, where Goad credits the conception of the upcoming tour organized by Beuhler.
Playing smaller cities and towns, he said, is nostalgic for him since he previously lived in Hope, Chilliwack and Abbotsford before moving to the United States.
B次元官网网址淚B次元官网网址檝e only played Victoria once, and that was six or seven years ago B次元官网网址� For me, itB次元官网网址檚 almost like a tourist week, like a little vacation,B次元官网网址� he said, and added that he often feels compelled to B次元官网网址渂ring the goods and really deliverB次元官网网址� for a smaller audience.
As the B次元官网网址済rownupB次元官网网址� between the two, Goad said he and Beuhler approach comedy differently.
B次元官网网址淛ust being married and having a kid is a completely different set than what John does, which is good B次元官网网址� If youB次元官网网址檙e single and with your buddies out there, youB次元官网网址檒l like John. If youB次元官网网址檙e a married couple, or grandparents, or whatever, you can relate to what IB次元官网网址檓 doing,B次元官网网址� he said. Goad and Beuhler will each do a set at the Terminal Bar, 63 Victoria Cres., on Friday, Oct. 21, between 7-9 p.m.
