A former West Shore resident gooned his way into the the top 55 comedians in Canada.

A trio of actors including Belmont graduate Ryan McNeill Bolton, powered their pitch project into the third round of CBCB次元官网网址檚 ComedyCoup challenge eying a grand prize of $500,000 to film a pilot episode of their show.

The former Metchosin resident and fellow Capilano University Acting for Stage and Screen Program graduates Malcolm Masters and Camden Filtness laughed their way into the top 55 after two challenges for the CBC contract. The project focused on the throwaway goon characters from TV and film getting their own show with the threesome playing the leads.

B次元官网网址淚t started with a couple guys with a camera to keep busy and keep acting and it picked up steam,B次元官网网址 McNeill-Bolton said. B次元官网网址淲e focused on having a good time doing it and it grew from there. We had six episodes we had put online.B次元官网网址

An online presence and a proof of concept was enough for them to chase their dreams but the top 55 was as high as they would get. Goons lost out in the fan-voting portion of the multi-week challenge taking place Nov. 6-9 that would have taken them into the top 15 and into the judged portion of the challenge. The trioB次元官网网址檚 characters aptly named Goon 1, Goon 2 and Goon 3 can still be found on Youtube by searching Goons Webseries.
