Victoria's Carr House will host its fourth annual "Howl-oween" Pet Parade on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m., offering a family-friendly Halloween.

Sponsored by the James Bay Veterinary Clinic, the event will be held in the gardens of Carr House Museum (207 Government St.) and invites families and spectators to enjoy a parade of costumed pets, with registered participants showing off their creative attire.

Awards will be given for categories including best owner-pet combo, best scary costume, best Emily Carr-related costume, and best homemade costume. Prizes will be awarded to first and second-place winners in each category.

Virtual entries will also be welcomed, with photos of costumed pets submitted online for a chance to win best virtual costume.

Maegen Sargent, the events coordinator for Carr House, expressed enthusiasm for continuing the annual tradition, noting Emily Carr's love for animals.

Check-in will begin at 12:15 p.m. on the day of the event and the parade will kick off at 1 p.m., rain or shine.
