Award winning womenB次元官网网址檚 choir Ensemble Laude is set to play a pair of upcoming holiday matinees this weekend.

The group will perform the Champagne Tea Concert, Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Pacific Opera Baumann Centre, 925 Balmoral Rd., and Spellbound, Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. with special guests the Oak Bay High WomenB次元官网网址檚 Choir at Centennial United Church, 612 David St.

Ensemble LaudeB次元官网网址檚 artistic director Elizabeth MacIsaac of Saanich was recently awarded the Amy Ferguson Award by the B.C. Choral Federation. The award is given to an outstanding choral director who is also an excellent vocal teacher fostering superior vocal practice.

Spellbound brings medieval and nordic pieces followed by songs from Northern Europe, Finland and Estonia and Canada, including commissions from Sarah Quartel, Kathleen Allen and Eleanor Daley.
