Season 1 dropped on Netflix on Feb. 22, with seasons 2 and 3 on the way

Many people have spent the last couple of weeks binging Avatar: The Last Airbender, which had its first season drop on Netflix on Feb. 22.

This live-action adaptation of the hit 2005 animated show not only features many Canadian actors, but also Canadian locations, including several locations throughout the Lower Mainland.

The cast and crew travelled to Langley in 2023 to film some of the scenes featured in episodes three and five of the first season.

The shots of Aang and Teo exploring a cavern in episode three were actually filmed in a real cave at the Jamestown movie set on MacInnes Farms.

Only a stoneBԪַs throw away from the U.S. border, the cast and crew also visited The Farm on 264, which is another Langley movie studio that is frequented by both Canadian and international movie productions.

The Farm on 264 was the site of all the shots of Zuko and Iroh exploring the town of Senlin in episode five.

Other scenes throughout the first season were shot in Burnaby, Maple Ridge, and Surrey.
