Doors across the Island could carry a little Oak Bay flair this holiday season.

Oak Bay HighB次元官网网址檚 Youth Against Cancer Club members crafted door hangers in November and then spent an afternoon in December getting the decor seasonal for those staying in the building on Richmond Road for cancer treatment.

B次元官网网址淭heyB次元官网网址檙e touching the hearts of all the people here at the lodge,B次元官网网址 said Jan Buehler, manager of annual giving on Vancouver Island for the Canadian Cancer Society.

People come and stay at the building on Richmond Avenue, sick and tired and feeling out of place away from home.

B次元官网网址淭hey see these beautiful door decorations that these kids have put their heart and love into. It touches them and makes them feel more tat home. it makes them feel that people care about them and understand and are supporting them as they fight the cancer,B次元官网网址 Buehler said.

Co-leaders Annika Weir and Angela Wang led a team of teens (and one younger sister from Monterey Middle School) that outfitted the lodge with individual door posters, a little garland in each room, and some glitter to the common room.

When the final residents leave ahead of Christmas, many choose to take their door poster home.
