The biggest Canada 150 party may have passed, but the Westshore Community Concert Band is hoping to keep the celebration going throughout the summer.

Stringing together pieces from a variety of Canadian composers, the group will present two more editions of its B次元官网网址淐anadian Music Through the AgesB次元官网网址 show on July 29 at MetchosinB次元官网网址檚 St. MaryB次元官网网址檚 of the Incarnation church and Sept. 16 in Langford at Our Lady of the Rosary.

The band performed in Highlands earlier this month and conductor Mike Dominy said the all-Canadian program was well received.

B次元官网网址淲e had some very positive feedback about particular numbers they enjoyed which IB次元官网网址檝e kept in mind for the next program,B次元官网网址 he said.

Early One Morning, well known as the theme on the CBCB次元官网网址檚 long-running childrenB次元官网网址檚 show The Friendly Giant, emerged as a favourite, Dominy noted.

B次元官网网址淚 think it struck a bit of a nostalgic chord,B次元官网网址 he said.

Several pieces are based on French Canadian folk songs and those also went over well with the audience, Domino added. Other selections are by composers ranging from Robert Buckley, who wrote music for both Expo B次元官网网址86 and the 1994 Commonwealth Games, to Calixa Lavallee, composer of O Canada.

Both remaining West Shore shows are free and start at 2 p.m.
