West Shore RCMP assisted with the breakfast program at Spencer Middle School in Langford, where students enjoyed doughnuts and board games.

B次元官网网址淗ow you start your morning can have a big impact on the rest of your day. As it turns out, it made their day as well as ours,B次元官网网址� Const. John Varley, West Shore RCMP community police officer, said in an April 12 press release after volunteering at the school earlier in the week.

Indigenous Police Units joined West Shore community RCMP as they helped to feed hungry kids.

The breakfast program was in danger of being temporarily shut down due to a scheduling conflict and RCMP decided to help, according to Varley.

A non-profit youth organization, with the help of a parent volunteer, runs the breakfast program every school day from 8 to 9 a.m.

B次元官网网址淲est Shore RCMP School Liaison officers heard about this during a regular school visit and decided to step forward and keep the program running without any gaps,B次元官网网址� Varley said.

The breakfast program has been in operation for almost a decade and is funded by the Student Affordability Fund through the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
