The Goddess Run is an opportunity for women of all ages to dress in fabulous attire and run around Langford B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ all while rasing funds and awareness for the B.C. Cancer Foundation.

Women in tutus, boas, sashes and Greek goddess outfits run through the streets of Langford each year, while raising money for a good cause.

The run features a new route this year for the Westhills 10K and the BMO 5K, with a new start and finish line at Belmont Secondary school. The race course will go through Westhills, leading to Irwin and Humpback roads.

If local residents arenB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t participating, they are encouraged to come out and cheer on the runners and see some of the great costumes runners will be wearing. In the past, residents have been known to go all out to help cheer on goddesses as they pass.

Post-race festivities include yoga and an expo people can peruse, complete with a kidzone.

All participants get a swag bag with a shirt, bracelet, racer bag and water bottle, as no goddess should leave an event empty-handed.

All funds raised from the event are donated to the B.C. Cancer Foundation. Teams can raise money on their own, plus $5 from each registration fee is donated.

Since the raceB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s inception in 2012, more than 12,500 goddesses have crossed the finish line and more than $170,000 has been raised for charity.

The seventh annual event takes place on June 2, with the warm up getting under way at 8:15 a.m.

Some local traffic will be impacted in the surrounding community until roughly 10 a.m.

Due to a scheduling conflict there will be no event in Port Coquitlam this year, which means goddess from the mainland will be flocking to the West Shore for the main event.

There are 100 spots left for those wanting to get involved. For more information or to register, go to .
