Escape the city lights and take a look at the stars next Friday.
Join Parks Canada staff and local experts at the Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard National Historic Sites for a night of astronomy and galaxy exploration on Friday, Aug. 10 from 8 p.m. until midnight.
The event also coincides with the annual Perseid Meteor Shower.
This star-themed celebration includes night sky viewing through large telescopes brought in by the Royal Astronomical Society, star-themed kidsB次元官网网址� crafts and activities, night photography tutorials by the Victoria Photography Club, a star 101 lecture by Scott Mair of the Royal Astronomical Society and a bat talk by Parks CanadaB次元官网网址檚 species at-risk team.
Let the stars take your breath away as seen from within the walls of Fort Rodd Hill as it provides a shield from neighbouring light pollution.
ThereB次元官网网址檚 also a special opportunity to camp out under the stars, with the option to reserve a camping spot.
Camping reservations must be made in advance and additional fees apply.
Regular admission is $3.90 for adults or $3.40 for seniors and children under the age of 17 are free.
