Take a step back in time at the Highlands Fling this year.

The new Highlands museum will open to the public at the Fling with displays of local history and heirlooms on display.

Richardson hasnB次元官网网址檛 missed a Highlands Fling in the 10 years heB次元官网网址檚 lived there.

B次元官网网址淢y favourite part is the community tug-o-war,B次元官网网址� he said, adding his piece of advice to anyone participating is to, B次元官网网址淟ook for high ground,B次元官网网址� he said with a chuckle.

As always music is an important part of the Fling and this year there will be performances by a group of young fiddlers named Coastline, a former Juno nominee Shari Ulrich and even Highlands Coun. Allen Dobb.

B次元官网网址淎llen is an accomplished musician with a number of recordings.B次元官网网址� Richardson said.

A magician, David Gifford, will appear for the first time at the Fling.

B次元官网网址淗eB次元官网网址檚 fantastico,B次元官网网址� said Richardson explaining the West Shore magician is known for making eggs and live chickens appear.

Homemade chili, watermelon slices and corn on the cob will be available. As always, West Shore Parks and Recreation will be on site with childrenB次元官网网址檚 games and races.

Bring your own stick for the community ball hockey game at the West fire hall, 1564 Millstream Rd., at 10:30 a.m.

The Highlands Fling is Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Caleb Pike Heritage Park, 1589 Millstream Rd, from noon to 5 p.m.
