Many West Shore residents will be sorting through shelves, cupboards and closets as part of their annual spring cleaning in the coming weeks. But this year, athletes from the boys and girls lacrosse academies at Royal Bay Secondary school are offering residents a way to get rid of some of their items, and for a good cause.

As part of the inaugural Spring Clean FunDrive, residents are encouraged to drop off gently used clothing and household items, which will then be delivered to Value Village.

Items must be gently used or new and in sell-able condition for the store.

Items include clothing, accessories, shoes, DVDs, boys, games, and kitchen items. Furniture, beds, TVs, computers, car seats and auto parts will not be accepted.

For every pound of donations received, Value Village will donate funds to support the lacrosse teams.

The Spring Clean FunDrive takes place on Sunday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Royal Bay school (3500 Ryder Hesjedal Way).
