Starting next week, open houses at Sooke School District middle and high schools will focus on academy programs and welcome future students before they move up.
Royal Bay secondary is hosting an event for soon-to-be high schoolers in Colwood and their parents next Tuesday (Feb. 9) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Information will be offered on the school and its programs.
The following Monday (Feb. 15, 6 p.m.), Spencer middle school will detail its hockey academy for interested students and their parents, as well as providing general and course information for Grade 5s who will attend the Langford school this fall.
Dunsmuir middle school in Colwood hosts its own event the next night, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. where information will be given about the dance and soccer academies, as well as general details.
And on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at Belmont secondary, the hockey, rugby and baseball/softball academies will be outlined, as well as other programs, for Grade 8 students and parents from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
