Sheepdog trial takes over Metchosin site this weekend
A long-standing tradition is once again returning to Metchosin this weekend. The Metchosin/Swanwick Ranch Sheepdog Trial takes place July 28 to 29 and will bring together more than 40 handlers from across western North America in a competition unlike any other for all ages to enjoy.
The event takes place on the field at William Head and Swanick roads on July 28 and 29 from 7:30 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m. Admission is by donation.
Stinking Fish Studio Tour returns for another year
A number of artists will have their creative spaces on display this weekend for the annual Stinking Fish Studio Tour, taking place July 27 to 31 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
With nine artists, including some special guests, to visit along the way, the tour spans Metchosin and East Sooke. For more information and a full list of artists, visit stinkingfishstudiotour.com.
