Anyone can climb into the cockpit of a handful of iconic Canadian aircraft at the BC Aviation Museum this weekend.
The first of two by-donation admission events the North Saanich museum hosts each year, Open Cockpit Day lands Sunday (Feb. 16).
Visitors have a chance to climb into several former flying pieces of history on site such as the Lockheed CT-133, Gruman Tracker and the Convair 580.
Billed as an amazing opportunity for kids and parents alike to get up close to the past, the invite affords unlimited photo opportunities. There will also be a used book sale and other fun activities.
The Hawaii Mars that famously made its way to the BC Aviation Museum last summer is not yet ready to host guests. Organizers hope to have that open by spring.
Organizers recommend folks dress warm as some aircraft are outdoors.
Supervised by volunteers, the cockpits are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the BC Aviation Museum, 1910 Norsman Rd., Sunday, Feb. 16. Visit for more.
