It may not be spring just yet, but a group of local students are hoping West Shore residents will want to get a jump on cleaning by donating their cans and bottles.

Students at Ruth King Elementary are hosting a giant bottle drive in Langford this Saturday, Feb. 17 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Funds raised from the event will be used to take Grade 5 students on a day trip to Camp Thunderbird in Sooke to experience some fun outdoor activities they wouldnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t normally get a chance to be a part of.

Bottles and cans can be dropped off at the school, 2764 Jacklin Rd., under a tent in the front parking lot between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
