Public can weigh in on skate park options

Westshore Skatepark Coalition looking at options for new skate park

People interested in plans to create a new skate park for the West Shore can hear updates at a public meeting this Sunday (Jan. 10) at the Juan de Fuca public library branch.

Hosted by the Westshore Skatepark Coalition, which held a fundraiser event in early December, the meeting will outline the progress made since the closure of the park behind the old Belmont secondary school.

The group has been working with West Shore Parks and Recreation in the past number of months to find potential suitable sites for a new location.

The meeting runs from 3 to 5 p.m. For more information, visit westshoreskateboarding.com or find them on Facebook.
