People are encouraged to write postcard messages from home B次元官网网址� or wherever B次元官网网址� in a contest put on by the Royal B.C. Museum.

As a student, B.C.B次元官网网址檚 most famous artist, Emily Carr, sent postcards home to Victoria from London and Paris. So, by picking up postcards with Emily Carr paintings on the back from any public library, the museum or the Bay Centre, people can write messages, poems or stories for the contest.

Entries submitted at any of the same locations postcards can be picked up, are judged by the curator of the museumB次元官网网址檚 the Other Emily exhibition, Kathryn Bridge; poet laureate Linda Rogers and author-librarian Joy Huebert.

B次元官网网址淥ur community is home to so many creative people. This contest will provide a unique opportunity for everyone to express their thoughts and impressions as inspired by the wonderful Emily Carr,B次元官网网址� said Maureen Sawa, CEO of the Greater Victoria Public Library.

Entry forms can also be downloaded from www.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca. Prizes include museum memberships, books and gift certificates.
