The Easter bunny will be hopping into town soon, but until then, there will be plenty of events on the West Shore to keep your youngsters busy this weekend.
Millstream Village in Langford is hosting its Easter party on Friday, March 30. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., kids can take part in an Easter egg hunt, meet and take a selfie with the Easter bunny, or have their face painted. ClarkB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Taekwondo will also be there with demonstrations and games, and parents can have their car washed or drop off bottles as part of the charity car wash and bottle drive in support of the West Shore Warriors.
The Rotary Club of West Shore will also be giving out free hot dogs and drinks, and Serious Coffee will be handing out free hot chocolate, while supplies last. Donations go to support the Moms and Mentors Society. There will also be a chance to win one of two gift baskets worth $500.
The Kinette Club of Juan de Fuca is hosting its 17th annual Easter egg hunt at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre (1767 Island Hwy.) on Saturday, March 31, beginning at 10 a.m. There will be three age groupings for children 13 and under. Donations will be accepted for cystic fibrosis.
West Village Church is also hosting its annual community Easter egg hunt, complete with activities, games and entertainment at Ruth King Elementary school on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds to towards the elementary school.
Also on Saturday, the City of Colwood and Royal Bay is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt in Meadow Park (off Latoria Boulevard) from 1 to 3 p.m. The event includes a craft station, face painting, cookie decorating with the Royal Bay Bakery and of course, the egg hunt. There will also be music by Morien Jones (also known as Mister Mojo) who will get kids of all ages up and dancing.
The 8th annual City Centre Park Easter egg hunt takes place on Sunday, April 1 in Langford from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Families can enjoy an Easter egg hunt for three age groups. There will also be a bouncy castle, inflatable football and craft tables. Parents can bring a non-perishable food item and will be entered into a raffle draw for prizes.
