Moms of all ages and their families were treated to a day of food, shopping and entertainment in a beautiful outdoor setting at Royal Roads University during the annual MotherB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Day Paint In.

Overlooking the backdrop of the Juan de Fuca Strait from the RRU grounds, the site attracted hundreds looking for a relaxing way to spend a couple hours in celebration of mothers.

Artists working en plein air were stationed at various points around Hatley CastleB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Italian Garden, giving the proceedings its name, while visitors also listened to talks about the previous residents, the Dunsmuirs, and looked for interesting finds in the market.

Just down the stairs, musicians of various types entertained from the stage, while in the field below, family activities and the Kid Zone kept the younger set amused.

And as if to honour mothers so they could enjoy the proceedings to the maximum, the weather stayed pleasant from start to finish.
