From a garden club meeting to a Celtic duo and more, this week in Metchosin

On Wednesday (Feb. 3), speaker Dwight Pennel joins the Metchosin Garden Club meeting taking place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Metchosin Community House. Relevant gar- dening topics are cov- ered the first Wednes- day of most months. Membership is $10 a year or visitors pay $2 to drop in. For more information email Suze Bowen at suzebowen@ shaw.ca.

On Feb. 5, Celtic duo Pennybrook bright- ens up the Metchosin Community House. Specializing in original instruments and old- fashioned songs, their rich and complex Celtic styling fill the the air from 7 to 9 p.m. with original compositions drawing from both traditional and contemporary influences. No advance sales, suggested donations at the door of between $7 and $12.
