The Metchosin Community Association is more than $4,000 richer after its first live auction.

B次元官网网址淲eB次元官网网址檝e gotten a lot of returns from our efforts,B次元官网网址� said Zara Lau, auction chair and MCA treasurer.

The live auction was held at the Metchosin Community House, Feb. 13, and brought in enough money to fund the house and itB次元官网网址檚 programs for a few months. It takes about $1,500 a month to run the house.

B次元官网网址淓very cent goes into running and maintaining our programs at the house,B次元官网网址� Lau said. B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 an ongoing thing.B次元官网网址�

At the auction, 54 donated items were up for bidding and 45 of those were sold. The highest selling item was a week stay at a personal cabin on Hornby Island, which sold for $700.

The fundraiser for the house was so successful the MCA has already decided it will host another similar event in the future.

Marjorie Anderson, MCA board member, was the brains behind the idea.
