Black Press and Staples, in partnership with Camosun College, are proud to recognize some of the great teachers found here in the Capital Region. We asked our readers to nominate teachers who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of the students they teach.

Chris Dosouto is a teacher at Spencer middle school. Here is what nominator Janis Walker had to say about her:

Besides her grades 6 to 8 teaching/librarian duties at the school, she also accompanies groups of students each year on trips through EF Tours. She gives up her personal holiday time to chaperone students each year on busy schools trips that are valuable experiences for students. These trips are opened up for high school students as well, and are a lot of responsibility.
