Langford Fire Rescue is feeling the loss of a colleague and a friend.
Afghan firefighter Atiqullah Jamshedie Mohammadullah died in the line of duty after helping the victims of a terrorist attack in Kabul.
The local detachment hosted a memorial Thursday to honour him at Station 1.

Langford crews first connected with Atiguallah back in 2004 when Beckett, along with Assistant Chief Geoff Spriggs and firefighter Dave Morse accompanied a shipment of donated equipment to Kabul. The met Atiqullah and a friendship quickly blossomed. He visited Langford twice.
The ceremony was led by Padre Ben Yablonski and Iman Mohamed Nur and included the Langford Fire Department Honour Guard.
A plaque in AtiqullahB次元官网网址檚 honour was also unveiled outside the station.
